Alex Othman jr's My Handmade Flashlight

Alex Othman Jr's Intro to Engineering class: My Homemade Flashlight

Q:What was the homemade flashlight made out of?
A: The Homemade flashlight was made from and an L.E.D, Wire, a light switch, and 2 batteries.

Q:how did you have to connect the L.E.D to the wires?

A: We used a tool call the solder which melds two object that aren't together and melts metals on to them, so then that they work together and have an electrical current.

Q: Did you have to connect anything together other than the wires together?
A: Yes. I had to also connect the positive or negative wire to the light switch, by unscrewing the side with the screws then wrapping the copper wire around it and then tightening the screw again, so it squishes the wires.

Q: Did you have to solder the batteries to the wires?
A: Actually, you can't solder the batteries to the wire because tit would mess the battery up, but we instead used electrical tape and taped the wire to the right sides of the batteries, being postive or negative.
Q: In the end, did the L.E.D turn on?
A: Yes. after i put everything together and flicked the light switch on it did work and i was proud of it.
Q: That's very impressive. Did you have to make a case for since flashlights aren't usually out in the open?
A: Yes i did i just used a box that i found at home to then put in the project, but had to make some adjustments since it didn't fit entirely.
Q: What does the inside look like for the flashlight?
A:It's basically just the object out side but more confined and safe from any drops?
Q: what was the box for?

A: the box was for another project within this one which was that we had to drop it from A high distance and then pick it up to see if it turned on.
